The ThromboLUX Score Explained

The ThromboLUX® Score was developed as a user-friendly measure that includes both viability and responsiveness data obtained with dynamic light scattering to provide an easily accessible, holistic indicator of platelet quality.

At each temperature (37C, 20C and 37C) a TLX Score is calculated from negative contributions of the measured microparticle concentration (area under the curve for microparticle (MP) which are particles with radii between 50 nm and 550 nm), the microaggregate radius and positive contributions from the platelet radius (the 50th percentile of the large particle population with radii greater than 550 nm). The final TLX Score is the average of the 3 temperature sub-Scores.
